4/2008 I have discovered Unshine few day ago, Unshine is a very good young Finnish band, their new album "The Enigma Of Immortals" have just been released in Finland, you will find on their Myspace page the link for the purchase (in Filande or elsewhere) this album that I recommend.The band is generally classified as Gothic Metal band but personally, after listening few times the air of their songs and the singing of the gorgeous singer Susanna I would classify Unshine as "minstrel metal" (this does not exist!! Then it should be created). You will not find in this album the singing mode "soprano lyric" more and more traditional for the female fronted Gothic Metal bands (I am also a fan of this but here it is different), you will discover in this album a very pleasant voice and a singing very close in my opinion to the style of Candice Night the singer of Blackmore’s Night. Concerning the melodies, Unshine’s music is much more powerful, much more metal than Blackmore’ S Night, the distortion guitars solos and the drums parts with double pedal are not missing, I appreciate also the beautiful melodies and the various sound effects of the synthesizer present all along the album. To summarize my opinion, a very pleasant music, very easy to listen to (in the good sense of thinking). I hope to have opportunity to attend to an Unshine gig before my final departure from Finland. The Paradise Lost My rate: 9/10 Je viens de découvrir Unshine, un excellent groupe Finlandais, leur nouvel album « The Enigma Of Immortals » vient de sortir en Finlande, vous trouverez sur leur page Myspace le lien pour vous faire expédier, en Filande ou ailleurs, cet album que je vous recommande. Le groupe est classé généralement en métal gothique mais personnellement je dirais médiéval / ménestrel métal, (ce style n’existe pas!! Alors il faut l’inventer) de par l’air et le style de chant de la jolie Susanna ; vous ne trouverez pas dans cet album le mode de chant « soprano lyrique » de plus en plus classique pour les groupes de métal gothique à voix féminine, vous aurez là une voix très agréable un air et un mode de chanson que je trouve très proche du style de Candice Night du groupe Blackmore’s Night. La musique de Unshine est par contre beaucoup plus puissante, beaucoup plus métal que celle de Blackmore’s Night, les guitares électriques avec distorsion, la batterie avec double pédale ne manquent pas. J’apprécie aussi les différents effets sonores des synthétiseurs qui sont très variés et qui se retrouvent tout au long de l’album. Pour résumer, une musique très agréable, très facile à écouter et ce dans le bon sens du terme. J’espère avoir l’opportunité de voir Unshine sur scène avant mon départ de Finlande. 4/2008 Unshine valitsi tyylisuunnakseen niin sanotun druidimetallin mystiset käänteet. The Enigma of Immortals vie kuuntelijan kiehtovalle fantasiamatkalle menneisiin aikoihin, jolloin kansa vielä uskoi vakaasti kansantarustoihin. Unshinen vaelteleva musiikki tuo hakematta mieleen Taru sormusten herrasta -elokuvan huikeat maisemat ja tapahtumat. Folkin ja metallin ristiaallokossa luovivat mm. heleä-ääninen laulaja Susanna Vesilahti sekä kitaristi ja kosketinsoittaja Harri Hautala, jonka loihtimat sinfoniset sävelmatot täyttävät mielen vastustamattomasti. ***** |
